This introduction to whitewater is for individuals and families who want to experience the wonders of the outdoors by river. This section allows families with children, beginners or older adults, who only want a mild whitewater experience to enjoy the Kicking Horse River. From Class 1 to small Class 3 rapids, this part of the river starts in Yoho National Park and is mainly a scenic float with some gentle rapids. Ending at our lunch spot, you will then be served up a delicious riverside BBQ lunch.

Start your day with the tranquility of Pyramid Lake and the reflection of Pyramid Mountain in the surrounding water. An osprey sitting on her nest, a bald eagle soaring overhead, beaver swimming along the shoreline leaving a gentle wake that spreads it's way out to the canoe, and off the right bow, a loon disturbing the silence with it's haunting call. This awesome trip combines the famous Shotgun and Portage Rapids of the upper Kicking Horse with the continuous whitewater challenges of the Lower Canyon. Trip includes a portage (by vehicle) and ends in the Town of Golden. Recommended prior rafting experience and is restricted to persons at least 16 years of age.
