This awesome trip combines the famous Shotgun and Portage Rapids of the upper Kicking Horse with the continuous whitewater challenges of the Lower Canyon. Trip includes a portage (by vehicle) and ends in the Town of Golden. Recommended prior rafting experience and is restricted to persons at least 16 years of age. In the event of adverse water conditions in the Lower Canyon, we will raft the upper section twice to substitute the lower.

Over the past 100 years of horse travel in the Rockies, we can attest to the compatibility between bears and horseback travel. Whatever the reasons may be, bears take little notice of horse parties. Although it was 2001 that was emphasized as the "Year of the Grizzly", due to popular demand we will continue with our interpretive trip to study the Grizzly and it's habitat. This summer, and hopefully for years to come, we will be organizing an ADULTS ONLY six-day horseback trip that will focus on the history, habitat and the future of the grizzly bear.
